Make time to do what you love...

6/23/2019

Make time to do what you love.  This is one way to keep your vibes up. When you feel good, you emit great vibes.  Your mind is less likely to look like a snow storm and things are usually clearer and life seems to be easier somehow.  No matter where you are on your life path, making time for you will make a difference.

You know from reading my blog, or if you have read my book, or the section on this website that tells you about me, that I love, love, love books. In life change happens and nothing can stop it.  I am at a time in my life where I am experiencing the Menopause.( I like to say it Men - Oh - Pause).   It is getting easier now, but in the past few years it has been a rollercoaster ride for me and for all the people in my life.  I will tell you about this in another post. The one thing that has remained constant in my life is my love of reading or listening to my books.

When you are experiencing a difficult time, be it a moment, hour, day, month, year find time to do something that you enjoy. Be with people you love or take yourself for a walk. Go to the loo and take a 5 minute break just for you.

What ever you do, do just one thing  for you!

Life is good!
Warmly

We all get afraid sometimes...

6/21/2019

It is natural to be afraid. Everyone feels afraid at one time or another.  I have felt afraid, nervous,  or apprehensive on many occasions, for lots of different reasons. Things like meeting new people, going somewhere new, doing something I have never done before,  living alone for the first time, getting back into work after being made redundant, looking after my grand daughter alone for the first time, changing my hair colour. all sorts of weird and wonderful things.  So I wanted to tell you about a book I read that really helped me  to look at things differently, it helped me see that fear is an emotion that we all experience in life.  "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway" by Susan Jeffers was one of the very first books I ever read. (on the subject self discovery) It was recommended to me by my cousin more than 20 years ago.  "Elaine If you never read another book again, please read this one" was what Anne-Marie said to me that day.  If you are needing a wee bit of help with dealing with apprehension or fear, or as I like to call it now "excitement", then get yourself a copy of this book, or go along to your library and borrow a copy. So today  I am saying the same thing to you "If you never read another book, read this one".

Or pass it on...
Why not say this to someone  you know who could be doing with a wee a bit of encouragement.

Life Is Good!

Reason, Season, Lifetime...

I sincerely believe people come into your life for a reason, a season and or a lifetime. Many people may cross your path in a day. You may cross the path of many people in a day.  Are you the one who leaves an imprint in their life in a good way?  I came across Florence Scovel Shinn, when a friend gave me one of her books to read. "The Game of Life and How To Play It".  I listen to the book on audible regularly. A reminder of how our words carry so much power in our life and in the lives of the people around us.  Florence has left an indelible imprint on the world with her work.

I am just back from a 7 day break in the sun. My husband and I met some amazing people. The people who stand out in life are the ones you remember...but what was it about them that makes you remember them?  Did you have a laugh with them, share a story, did they make you feel welcome, special, or did they have the uncommon ability to listen without waiting to interrupt.  What  will make you a memorable person in someone else's day?  A smile, remembering a name, looking at someone in the eye when they are speaking to you and really listening without waiting to speak, these are just some of the simple ways you can make a difference.

What you think about expands...fact.

I choose to listen to this audible book as often as I can. What are you feeding your mind? Or do you allow the thoughts you had yesterday to replay again today. Pay attention to your self talk, we think in pictures and if you worry, you are choosing to mentally rehearse things going the way you DON'T want them to go...why would you do that? Try mentally rehearsing things going the way you want. Your thoughts are the music of the mind. Delete the ones you don't like and listen to new ones. Only you can. Remember what you think about expands...fact!

People are attracted to your vibe.

When you feel good, you emit a frequency that other people are attracted to. No one likes to be around someone who drains them. We like to be with people we feel good around.

Pay attention to how you feel around other people.
You will begin to become more aware of the energy they are emitting, does it feel energizing or not.

Knowing...

Knowing when NOT to speak is a skill

We all like to feel heard. When was the last time you had a conversation with someone and you felt that they really listened to you? They held the space for you, they let you talk and they didn't interrupt you.

When someone does this for you how do you feel?
Calmer, Understood, Human, Touched, Heard... the list goes on.

Sometimes all we need is someone to listen.  It is so tempting to give people the benefit of our experience, knowledge or our opinion, but listening without interruption is sometimes just the energy that person needs. You might be the only person in their life who knows how to really listen.
